Unity and Involvement

Our year in Classified was another uneventful one, no grievances. The negotiations were disappointing for many of us as far as economics were concerned, but we did get the extended sick leave, which is very important.

There is a committee under the leadership of Bob McCarthy taking a look at The Guild past, present and future. I would like to encourage everyone in our department to get involved with the rebuilding of our Guild. We will be asking for the help of every member to fill out a survey, attend monthly meetings, become a steward and get involved with the Guild to help restructure, regroup, heal, and make sure management adheres to the agreements that they make with the Guild.

The plan for the new year is to look ahead and make everyone feel that belonging to the Guild is a good thing and that this is our contract. The Guild is only as strong as we make it. Please don't give up on the Guild. Let's work together and have the unity needed to make a difference.
