Tina Destro and Phil Fairbanks were elected to the positions of local president and vice president, respectively, at November's local meeting.
Also elected were Carol Ann Burke, local secretary; and Bob Snyder was re-elected to his sixth term as local treasurer.
The four will begin their new terms on January 1, 1998.
After the elections, Destro commented, "I'm honored to have the opportunity to serve the Guild as its president. I'm looking forward to working with a great team of officers, as well as other Guild leaders, to build a stronger, more active union, one that members can see benefits them in all aspects of their working lives."
Stepping down after a very long negotiating process are president Sina Williams and vice president Tom Dolan, both of whom did not seek re-election. Williams stated at the beginning of nominations that she was handing in her immediate resignation.
Dolan agreed to serve as interim president. Fairbanks previously served as vice president in 1990, and Destro is currently local secretary.
