Circulation Pay Strategy Planned

Scheduling procedure changes topped the list of improvements for inside circulation clerks as a result of departmental bargaining. Circulation management has committed to implementing a new schedule early this year.

The new system will continue to rely on length of service within the department for choosing days and hours of work.

When the main bargaining gets around to economic issues, the parties have agreed to develop a single pay scale for Group C and D clerks. This will eliminate the problem of part-time employees earning an hourly rate that is less than the rate earned by full-time customer service representatives.
