Notes from the Executive Director:

The last few days of winter, it seems, are always the worst. The sky has been gray and the ground white for so long, it's as though we're living a black and white television set. The frigid weather, too, seems as stubborn as a persistent cold. Fear not, though, warmer weather is on the way and, just like our activities during the coldest months, Camp Fire has some great things planned for the spring.

First and formost is Absolutely Incredible Kids Day (AIKD) on March 20th. AIKD is a national Camp Fire program brought to you by our Buffalo and Erie County Chapter. This special day is a simple call to action to all American adults -- to write a letter to the child or children in their lives. On March 20th, grandparents, aunts, uncles, parents, neighbors, neighbors and many more adults will write letters to the child or children in their lives letting them know how much they are loved and how absolutely incredible they are. Imagine a young boy or girl finding a letter like this on his or her pillow or maybe in the lunch box. What a thrill that would be. It's a simple thing and will only take a few minutes, so write a letter to a special child.

Camp Fire's annual Fun Run will be on April 26 at Lancaster High School. This year's run promises to be teriffic fun. There will be gmes, refreshment and, of course, plenty of exhilerating excercise. The Fun Run is a rewarding and healthy way for kids and adults alike to support Camp Fire. Be sure to come out or support a runner.

Of course ,that's not all. Camp Fire has many more activities planned for the next few months. So take a look inside and have fun!
