Notes from the Executive Director:
The Fall Season Is Here!
Summer is over and it's time to renew our Camp Fire club activity. We've got some great activities planned for the fall. First is our Wild, Wild West and Craft show at Spooky Hollow (Camp Aloha) on October 26, 1997. There will be arts and crafts, games, and many other fun activities from the ol' west. Look inside for more details.
Don't forget our Fall Frolic again this year. It's an excellent opportunity for clubs to enjoy the beauty of the Western New York autumn season at Camp Aloha. Details on the Fall Frolic are inside.
New this fall, will be our Parent/Child Weekends at Camp Aloha. These weekends will provide special opportunities for parents and their children to have fun together in the great outdoors and develop important communication skills. The weekends will run from 7:30 pm Friday to 7:30 pm Saturday with the option of staying over Saturday night. Children must be in grades one through six and the possible parent/child combinations are mother/daughter(s), mother/son(s), father/daughter(s) and father/son(s). The weekends will include games, mini-workshops, arts and crafts, cookouts and other great activities. This is an excellent opportunity for parents to spend some quality time with their children. Look for more information later this fall.
The 1997 Camp Fire Product Sale will run from October 13 to November 13. This product sale is an important part of Camp Fire's tradition and helps provide the resources necessary for our programs. It also provides a special opportunity for our leaders and parents to work directly with our young members to help them learn about business and responsibility. We will have Niagara Candy's rice and almond bars as well as their catalog of Christmas candies. In addition, we will be selling the window clings, which were very popular last year. I will be out to all the club cluster meetings in September to make the logistical arrangements with all the leaders.
Finally, hats off to the HEART Cluster clubs for their outstanding service at the Erie County Fair. They manned the Camp Fire booth at the fair where they spread the WOHELO spirit to all visitors. Thank you.
