MESSAGE FROM FLORENCE BEAMER
In May 1997 a joint meeting of the Southern/Eastern Canoe Committee was held. It was a discussion of what should be done with the equipment purchased by the committee for use on canoe trips.
Some of the equipment was given to the Northern/Central Canoe Committee, a canoe was given to Camp Aloha for use on Sky Pond, and some items were sold.
A trailer with six canoes will be stored at Camp Aloha for off-site use by certified Camp Fire Clubs.
3-man tents, cook kits, cooking grates, folding shovel, first aid box and coffee pot are available for Camp Fire Club use.
Extra canoes and a trailer were sold. The proceeds from the sale of excess equipment has been put into two funds:
1. exclusively for the use of Southern Region members
2. for use by the rest of the council members
After a registered Camp Fire Club has spent a weekend (two nights) at Camp Aloha, they are eligible to get funds to pay for cabin rental for a second weekend. The first weekend must have been after September 1, 1997 of the current registration year.
If you have any questions, call Florence at 694-3932.
