Delegate Nominations
Slated for April Meeting

Nominations will be taken at the April 28, 1998 Local meeting for Buffalo Newspaper Guild-CWA delegates to The Newspaper Guild-CWA Sector Conference, August 28 and 29, 1998 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Chicago, Ill.

Nominations will also be heard at the April Local meeting for Buffalo Newspaper Guild-CWA delegates to the CWA Convention, August 31 and September 1, 1998 at the same location.

Pursuant to the TNG-CWA Constitution, our Local is entitled to six (6) votes at the TNG-CWA Sector Conference and therefore six delegates.

Pursuant to the CWA Constitution our Local is entitled to two (2) votes at the annual convention and therefore two (2)delegates. Each Local is entitled to elect an alternate for each delegate. Each Local is also entitled to as many delegates as it has votes. In any case, each Local is entitled to cast its full quota of votes.

In the event of a contested election for the TNG-CWA Sector Conference delegates, the two nominees receiving the highest number of votes will be elected as CWA Convention delegates. If the election is uncontested, members will nominate two CWA Convention delegates from among the six convention delegates as required by The Newspaper Guild-CWA Constitution.
