TRAINING FOR CAMP
There are two levels of camp training for Camp Fire adults. PRIMARY TRAINING is designed for clubs whose first experience at camp is a service unit or council planned weekend. It is a seven hour session at camp (9am-4pm). Topics covered include simple fire building, camp tours, rules for camp, cookout lunch, first aid and ideas for club meetings to prepare your members for their first experience at camp. SECONDARY TRAINING is designed as the follow-up to Primary Training. You must have completed Primary Training before you can attend Secondary Training. It includes an overnight at camp and sessions for tool craft, knots, compass, menu ideas and lots of practice in outdoor cooking.
EXEMPTION:
Everyone is required to attend Primary Training but you might be exempt from Secondary Training. If you have had lots of camping experience and feel you are proficient in the skills listed above for Secondary Training, you should write a letter listing your past camping experiences. Send this letter to Margaret Whitehead, Camp Fire Council, Tri-Main Center, 2495 Main Street-Suite 506, Buffalo, NY 14214.
Pre-registration is required for all training sessions. Spring date are: Primary Training - Saturday, April 19th - 9am-4pm. Secondary Training-Friday, April 18, 6:30 pm through Saturday, April 19, 3:00 pm
Deadline for Registration for both sessions is April 4, 1997. Fees for each session are listed below on the registration form. This money is used to purchase the food and must be paid at the time of registration.
