CABIN SYMBOLS
Symbolism has always been a part of Camp Fire. The first members of Camp
Fire, with the help of Charlotte Gulick, used symbols to represent the names
they chose for themselves. For inspiration, Mrs. Gulick turned to the symbols
used in Native American artwork.
As each new cabin or building has been added at Camp Aloha, the campers have selected a Camp Fire name and symbolgram for it. In the paper copiesof the next several issues of Camp Fire Today we will publish the symbolgrams of Camp Aloha along with a short meaning.
SPRING WEEKENDS
Registration forms for our Spring Programs at Camp Aloha were issued in the
paper copy of Camp Fire Today. If you need more forms or have any questions
about which program would be suitable for your club, call Margaret at
835-7585.
CAMP TRAINING
Before your club can attend any of our Spring programs, one adult from your
club must attend Primary Camp Training. The date for this training is Saturday,
April 19. It will be an all day session at Camp Aloha. If you think you might
be interested in taking your club out to camp at any other time you must
also complete Secondary Camp Training. This training includes an overnight
at camp. The dates are Friday, April 18, 7pm - Saturday, April 19, 3pm.
Registration Forms will be in the next issue of Camp Fire Today.
EQUIPMENT FOR USE AT CAMP
There are pieces of equipment that your club can use during their stay at
Camp Aloha. Pie, Irons, Dutch Ovens, Reflector Ovens, Binoculars, Compasses,
Hot Plates, Grates for fire rings and Snowshoes. All of these things must
be requested on the member Camp Application form or when you make your verbal
reservation at the office before your arrival at camp and must be returned
clean and ready for the next user. If you are planning to use any of the
cooking equipment, bring along some brillo type pads and some oil for coating
